Salon Service Group is currently seeking an IT Director to join our growing team!

This newly created position will provide vision and leadership for developing, implementing, and managing IT initiatives and functions throughout the company. This leader will be responsible for ensuring an exceptional customer experience, establishing and meeting service levels that align with business and IT strategies, developing staff, streamlining processes, maintaining efficient and high-quality operations, handling all hardware and software systems, managing budgets and managing vendors and contracts while ensuring continual functioning of critical operations.   

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Integrates cost-effective applications of technological hardware and software into all aspects of our business
  • Provides leadership for the design, configuration, operation, and maintenance of a robust technology infrastructure that supports current and emerging technologies, such as mobile and hand-held wireless devices.
  • Directs the design and administration of operational systems and servers (e.g., email systems, auto dialers, voice and video systems, directory services, print queues, device assignments, mass storage systems, backup systems, disaster recovery, security, antivirus, spyware) and ensures availability of services to all authorized users.
  • Analyzes technology needs in consultation with leaders and end users; recommends updates, replacements or enhancements of hardware and/or software; and manages the purchase, delivery, and installation of new systems.
  • Directs and supervises the daily operations and personnel of the IT Department, including analyzing workflow, establishing priorities and timelines, developing and monitoring standards, evaluation performance, and ensuring optimal utilization of staff to provide a high level of customer service and satisfaction, with a focus on being innovative and responsive to user needs.
  • Plans, develops, and implements the IT budget
  • Leads strategic, operational and tactical planning for the development, evaluation, and coordination of the information and technology systems
  • Develops and maintains IT policies and standards relating to the acquisition, implementations, and operation of information technology and communication systems.
  • Negotiates IT service level agreements with user organizations and monitor IT systems performance to hold IT staff accountable for meeting those service levels.
  • Develops and enforces policy and procedures to ensure the protection of IT assets and the integrity, security and privacy of information entrusted to or maintained by SSG's information systems.
  • Manage development and immediate supervision of members of the IT department, including evaluation.
  • Coordinate activities of outside vendors, consultants and trainers.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Educational Technology or related field required, including coursework in strategic implementation of technology and innovation, management information systems, and database management technology
  • Knowledge and applied understanding of instructional applications of a wide range of hardware and software in a variety of retail settings
  • Master's degree in one of the above areas preferred
  • Five or more years of direct management of a major IT operation is essential
  • Demonstrated success working with and through people at all levels of the organization in establishing goals, objectives and action plans to produce expected results
  • Strong understanding and experience setting up, configuring, and managing network components. 
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills, and drive to meet organizational and departmental objectives; ability to manage projects on interrelated time lines
  • Knowledge of ERP data systems
  • Proven ability to negotiate and work with vendors and consultants
  • Experience supervising staff

This position is required to be based at our headquarters in Springfield, MO.
